There are a number of reasons why you may be experiencing connection problems. Most can be quickly solved. If these troubleshooting steps don’t resolve the issue, please reach out directly to the PrivadoVPN support team.
Try Another Network
The first thing you should check is that the network you’re on is not causing the issue. If you are on Wi-Fi, try a wired Ethernet connection or connecting through a mobile hotspot. See if the IPv6 protocol is enabled on your account and, if it is, try disabling it, since that could interfere with your connection.
You should also take this opportunity to check that you don’t have Parental Controls or firewalls that are blocking your Internet connection.
Change Your VPN Protocol
PrivadoVPN gives you access to three different VPN protocols: OpenVPN, IKEv2, and WireGuard®. Each protocol can come with its own connection errors, so if you are not able to connect under one protocol, changing to another protocol might solve the problem.
You can find instructions on how to change your VPN protocol here.
Look for Apps That Might Interfere
Sometimes another application on your device might be interfering with your VPN connection. Antivirus programs and other virtual private networks might block your ability to connect to PrivadoVPN, for example.
Your firewall might also be blocking your VPN connection. Check any firewall settings and ensure that PrivadoVPN has access to both send and receive data.
